Restoring e-mails and Internet favorites

Top  Previous  Next

To create Internet favorites, open the restore wizard and select "Emails oder Internet-Favoriten wiederherstellen" (Restore e-mails or Internet favorites).

If your backed up e-mail data are located on an FTP server, you first have to download them (by clicking on "Daten vom FTP-Server wiederherstellen" (restore data from the FTP server) in the wizard). In a second step you can instruct the wizard to restore e-mails or Internet favorites. If your backed up e-mail data are located on a tape, proceed in the same manner.

Note: The wizard overwrites and deletes the data currently stored in the e-mail program. In the e-mail programs (Outlook, Thunderbird) you can also import individual e-mails directly from the backup without using the 7-Backup restore wizard. For this to be possible, the backup files have to be available uncompressed and unencrypted. You can use the restore wizard to decrypt or decompress the backup files to a temporary folder on the hard disk. You can then import data directly from this file in the e-mail program (Outlook, Thunderbird).
